Calculated Columns

Calculated columns can be added to your student table to store computed numerical results. When you create a calculated column in the database, WebCT will add the column and a link in the column to create the formula for your calculation.
 
At the top of the column you want to edit:

• Click the Formula link.

WebCT will then display the Calculation Editor screen -

The calculator is make up of four parts:

• The Formula Window displays the entered formula.
• The Numeric Keypad functions the same as a normal calculator. The C key clears the display and the CE key erases the last entry.
• The Column menu allows the designer to choose columns from the database to use in the formula eg. Quiz Results.
• The math Function provides the ability to select 3 math functions from the drop down list. These are maximum, minimum and sum.
• Enter your formula by selecting columns and entering numbers using the Numeric Keypad.

When finished, click the Update button.
